Good morning. As always, I've got a lot of work today, so I can't be terribly long-winded, but I've got two books to mention as well as some amazing food. So, without further ado:
15) And I Shall Have Some Peace There by Margaret Roach. This is her memoir about leaving her corporate life behind to move full-time into her country house in upstate New York. Honestly, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Not simply a recalling of the process of moving, fixing up the house, getting to know her neighbors, etc., Roach really takes time to dwell in the small moments, the reflective moments, and isn't afraid to really delve into self-examination. This is a really honest, thoughtful memoir. Definitely recommended.
16) The Hob's Bargain by Patricia Briggs. I went into this book knowing I would enjoy it. I've read Briggs' urban fantasy work, and love it. This one is a fantasy, and I did have a good time with it even though some of it is very typical fantasy. Definitely recommended for fantasy lovers, but not a keeper for me, as I don't see myself rereading it.
Yesterday me, my partner-in-crime, and two friends of ours got crawfish takeout and sat in our backyard to eat. It was AMAZING. two pounds of crawfish plus corn, potatoes, sausage, mushrooms, and artichokes. I would eat it again today, if I could. After our backyard feast, we saw The Avengers. I really enjoyed it, aside from a couple of very minor quibbles. I would absolutely watch it again.
And now, I need to dive right into work. Blessed Be!
