books, books, books . . .

Happy Saturday, kittens! Lately I've been thinking about books a lot. Okay, I always think about books a lot. But what I'm thinking about right now are reading goals for this year. (Yeah, I know, maybe I should've thought about that in December? Oh well!) I have a pile of books I am partially through that I put down for various reasons. I think goal number one is to finish those books. Goal number two is to read forty books this year. That's not a lot, but given that I read for my day job and my freelance work, I think forty books read purely for pleasure is a reasonable number to shoot for. Goal number three is to read books by authors who are not straight white men. It's okay if some of the books I read are by straight white men, but I want that to be less than aquarter of my pleasure reading for this year.
