here lies a fire

Guess what I'm doing tonight? Starting my next novel! It's going to be superhero fiction, for lack of a better term. YA, a little dark. A lot of fun. I'm looking forward to digging into it. My goal is to write 800 words a day; we'll see how that goes! Maybe I'll put one of those metric things up on here so I can track my progress.
Aside from that, I finished another book last night. 9. French Trysts by Kirsten Lobe. This is a fun, frivolous read, full of racy sex scenes and crazy shenanigans. I had a good time with it; it's very lighthearted, pure escapism. And MAN did it make me crave a good light French picnic! Fresh strawberries, some yummy cheese, a baguette still warm from the oven, and a nice bottle of Champagne. Doesn't that sound good? It was fun. I recommend this book, even though it's not a keeper for me. I just don't tend to revisit this sort of book; it's nothing personal. This would be a FABULOUS beach read for all you ladies this summer.
Anyway. Busy busy at work today. I'll try to get back on here on Thursday, as Friday is my birthday so I'm taking that day just for me! Plans to be discussed next blog.
Happy afternoon, everybody!
