Somehow I've managed to muck up my wrist. My GP thinks I've strained a tendon or ligament. Oh, joy. She's sending me to an orthopedist to get a referral to a physical therapist who specializes in wrist injuries. Sigh. I want my wrist to get better. Absolutely. I can't write like this. I can't type comfortably, or brush my teeth comfortably. But I'm having a hard time getting an appointment in the near future with an orthopedist. Why is it so hard to see a doctor in a timely fashion? (Further, why can't I just have a two-minute phone conversation with an orthopedist to get some names/numbers of some good therapists?) In the meantime, ibuprofen is now a part of my daily diet, and I'm wearing a brace (which does dull the pain but doesn't make it easier to get things done). Work is a bit of a trial like this, but my real concern is my writing. How long will it take to have my normal wrist back, so I can write?
Today has not been the best or brightest of days.
Sometime soon, a post about balancing my writing with my job with my relationship, and what needs to change in order for the writing to really happen.
