Late

I know, it's late in the month and I've barely said a word! Apologies; it's been another busy month and my Internet at home has been intermittent at best. So. Here I am.
January has been cold. Cold. Recently one morning it was 9 degrees. Brr! I am definitely a winter child and enjoy the cold, but I do hope that this doesn't go on for too long. However, I love that we've gotten some snow this winter!
I finished another book today: Mirrors of the Unseen, by Jason Elliot. And I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would! It's basically a travelogue about Iran, only so much more. Jason talks at length about the people, the history, the art, the religion, and the architecture. Of course he touches on the politics of that part of the world, as well, but that's not what it's about. Not what he dwells on. It was like a kaleidoscope of his impressions of this beautiful, ancient culture that most of us don't know a whole lot about. There were moments of description that were so keen I could almost have been there with him, it was so clear to me. This one is definitely a keeper. I'll revisit it next time I have a yearning to travel somewhere foreign to me.
I have a lot more to say but unfortunately I've got to keep it brief this evening. So have a good night, and I'll be back sometime in the next couple of days. Ta!
